Sadako 3D: A Terrifying Return of the Ring's Ghost
Sadako 3D is a 2012 Japanese horror film that loosely adapts the novel S by Koji Suzuki, the creator of the Ring series. The film follows a teacher named Akane who becomes involved in a series of mysterious deaths linked to a cursed video that spreads through the internet. The video shows a man being killed by Sadako, the vengeful ghost of a woman who was thrown into a well.
The film is directed by Tsutomu Hanabusa and stars Satomi Ishihara as Akane, Koji Seto as her boyfriend Takanori, and Ai Hashimoto as Sadako. The film uses 3D effects to enhance the scares and bring Sadako to life in a new way. The film also explores the origin of Sadako and her connection to Akane, who has telekinetic powers.
Sadako 3D was released in Japan on May 12, 2012 and grossed over $20 million worldwide. The film received mixed reviews from critics and fans, who praised the visuals and atmosphere but criticized the plot and characters. The film was followed by a sequel, Sadako 3D 2, in 2013.
Akane decides to confront Kashiwada and find Takanori. She learns that Kashiwada is a former patient of her father, who was a psychiatrist. Kashiwada was obsessed with Sadako and wanted to resurrect her using his own body as a vessel. He also discovered that Akane was a descendant of Sadako's mother, Shizuko, and that she inherited her psychic powers. He planned to use Akane as a new host for Sadako, who would then spread her curse through the internet.
Akane tracks down Kashiwada's location and finds him in a makeshift studio, where he filmed his suicide video. She also sees Takanori trapped in a well, surrounded by monitors. Kashiwada reveals that he is already dead and that his body is possessed by Sadako. He tries to kill Akane, but she uses her telekinesis to fight back. She manages to free Takanori from the well, but Sadako emerges from the monitors and grabs him. Akane then jumps into the well to save him.
In the well, Akane faces Sadako, who shows her visions of her past. Akane learns that Sadako was born from Shizuko's rape by a priest named Yamamura. Yamamura also had a son named Takashi, who was Akane's grandfather. Takashi hated Sadako and tried to kill her by throwing her into the well. However, Sadako survived and developed her curse, which she used to kill anyone who watched her video. Akane realizes that she is related to Sadako and that they share the same pain.
Akane decides to embrace Sadako and accept her as part of her family. She tells Sadako that she loves her and that she is not alone. She also tells Takanori that she loves him and that he is not alone either. This act of love breaks Sadako's curse and frees her from her hatred. Sadako disappears, leaving behind a white feather. Akane and Takanori climb out of the well and reunite with Koiso, who has arrived with reinforcements.
The film ends with Akane and Takanori living happily together. However, in a post-credits scene, it is revealed that Sadako has not completely vanished. She has taken over the body of a young girl named Nagi, who is Akane's niece and the daughter of Takashi's son. Nagi watches Kashiwada's video on her tablet and smiles evilly. ec8f644aee
